the V60 is made of porcelain, a tough ceramic, called “Arita yaki,” a renowned porcelain brand proud of its long-standing technique for creation of every day tableware. The main raw material is crushed powder of porcelain stone. Fine-grained, durable, and easy to handle, it is used extensively. The firing temperature for the porcelain is higher than for pottery (from 1,250 to 1,300 degrees Celcius) so vitreous substances contained in large quantities in the raw material for Arita yaki melt well, making the finished work almost as hard as the original mineral.
