MÁY RANG CÀ PHÊ FRESH ROAST Sample Coffee Roaster SR500The Fresh Roast SR500 uses a simple switch for setting low, medium or high heat, a dial for adjusting fan speed (+/- 10%) and a digital timer. We like the general design concept because it doesn’t try to automate anything and allows direct user control.
The chaff collector works well, and although it doesn’t have a smoke reducer, the top of the machine slows the flow of smoke so roasting under your oven’s hood fan will eliminate most of the smoke. In terms of price and control over the roast, the SR500 is in line with the discontinued Hearthware iRoast2, but the SR500 has a more intuitive interface and a quieter fan. The SR500 is a better roaster than Fresh Roast’s other model, the SR300, and is worth the extra money.
Fresh Roast SR 500 Operating Instructions
Before Using : Wipe glass with damp cloth, inside and out. Do not immerse roasting chamber in water.
CAUTION: To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not immerse roaster base, it’s power
cord or plug in water or other liquid.
Roasting Coffee Beans
Your Fresh Roast SR 500 coffee bean roaster is designed to roast approximately 5 ounces of green coffee beans at one time. 4.5oz / 130grs ounces of roasted beans will yield 18-20 cups of coffee.
Fill the provided 43cc measuring cup 4 times. Never overfill with green beans. Place glass roasting chamber on the base unit; place basket and top cap on glass chamber. Set fan dial in the middle position, set timer to 5.9 minutes, set temperature to high.If beans are not fluid and moving, increase fan speed until beans are fluid and moving.
Allow beans to cool for the total 3 minutes before removing roast chamber, basket and top cap.
Allow beans a minimum of 3 hours to degas/cool before grinding and brewing.
If your beans are not dark enough after 5.9 minutes, you can raise the temperature by switching to HIGH temperature or add time with the (+) button before the machine goes into the “COOL＂ mode. Every time you tap the (+) button it will add six seconds and the (-) button will subtract 6 seconds from the roast sequence.
Lowering the fan speed will also increase temperature. If your beans are dense or 4 scoops weights over 120 grams you should dry the beans. Set the fan on the maximum speed and the temperature on LOW. Allow the beans to dry for approximately 2 minutes. Switch the HEAT to Medium or HIGH depending on how dark you want your beans.
Adjust the fan speed so the beans are fluid throughout the roasting sequence.
CAUTION: Over roasting beans can create smoke. If this occurs, tap the COOL button.
Do not switch to OFF or unplug the machine
