Blagu Coffee offers superior quality coffee beans with exquisite flavors of caramel, dried fruits, and a subtle tart aftertaste of apple. The medium roast level creates a unique and distinctive coffee experience.Introduction to the Panama Boquete Coffee Growing Region
Panama coffee cultivation began in the 19th century when European immigrants brought coffee seeds to the region. To prevent pests and create suitable climate conditions, coffee was planted on the highlands of Chiriqui, at the foothills of the Volcan Baru volcano in the western province of Panama. This was a significant turning point that opened up opportunities for the development of Panama coffee in this region. The Boquete area is located on the eastern slopes of the Baru Volcano. It is divided into smaller regions such as Bajo Boquete, Alto Boquete, Caldera, Jaramillo, and Palmira. To the south is a valley, with the Baru Volcano to the west and the Tamaranka Mountain Range to the north.
Boquete is a highland region with elevations ranging from 1,200m to 2,100m. It receives most of its rainfall from the Pacific side from May to December and from the Atlantic side from December to March. The average temperature ranges from 10°C to 26°C.
Boquete is fortunate to have fertile soil and a unique climate that enables the growth of high-quality coffee beans. It is also the region known for producing Panama's finest specialty coffee.
The coffee plants here thrive, resulting in beans that meet the Strictly Hard Bean (SHB) standards. The extended ripening process and high sugar content contribute to a rich and distinctively sweet flavor profile. Each region also brings its own unique and distinct flavor characteristics to the coffee.
