Cafec is a coffee filter paper brand from Japan, a subsidiary of Sanyo Sangyo, specializing in researching and developing optimal filter paper solutions for manual coffee brewing. With a philosophy of respecting the raw materials and controlling water flow, CAFEC continuously improves its paper-making technology to help baristas easily create a clear and balanced cup of coffee.

Mr. Shigeji Nakatsuka, CEO of Cafec, has continuously researched and developed filter paper, and by changing the paper drying process, he successfully developed three types of filter paper specifically designed to control brewing speed suitable for different roast levels: Light, Medium, and Dark.

Cafec paper filter DC1-100W is designed for body and sweetness, using low-height two-side crepe to create a fast initial flow followed by slower extraction. This enhances body and sweetness in the final cup.

  • Low-height two-side crepe with a two-phase flow control
→ Smoother flow early; more fines adhesion later to brake flow and finish with body and sweetness.
  • 0.22 mm thickness with middle density
→ Balanced drainage and fines retention aligned with T-83 extraction target.
  • Recommended water temperature: 83°C
→ Matches the T-83 “brake extraction” design for dark roast.
  • Compatible with cone drippers size 01
→ Works with V60-01 cone drippers.
→ Improves fit and supports stable flow.

Usage Instruction

  • Step 1: Fold the filter seam and place it in the cone.
  • Step 2: Rinse with hot water and discard the rinse water.
  • Step 3: Add ground coffee and level the bed.
  • Step 4: Bloom for ~30 seconds.
  • Step 5: Pour in a steady spiral to the target volume (suggested 1:15).

Storage Instruction

  • Store in a cool, dry place
  • Avoid moisture and direct sunlight
  • Seal the bag tightly after opening to maintain paper quality
