Blagu Coffee Roasted Beans, Guatemala Huehuetenango, Medium 250g
Introduction to the Land of Guatemala Huehuetenango
Coffee was originally brought to Guatemala by Jesuit priests in the mid-18th century for ornamental purposes. It wasn’t until the late 19th century, when Guatemala's indigo dye and cochineal industries began to decline, that the country started cultivating coffee on a large scale. By 1880, coffee accounted for 90% of Guatemala's export industries.
The name "Guatemala coffee" comes from its place of origin, the country of Guatemala. This region has a diverse climate with abundant rainfall, and the rich soils contribute to a variety of coffee flavors.
Each year, Guatemala produces 225,712 tons of coffee and exports up to 199,972 tons, accounting for approximately 2.3% of the world's coffee. It is the second-largest coffee producer in Central America, following Honduras.
