Peru is a country on the west-central coast of South America, facing the Pacific Ocean. It is renowned not only for its majestic natural beauty but also for its high-quality Arabica coffee. Peru has an ideal climate and elevation for growing coffee, with the perfect combination of fresh fruity aroma and a clean, balanced bitterness.
The famous coffee-growing regions of Peru include Chanchamayo on the eastern slopes of the Andes, the Amazonas region, San Martin, and the southern highlands. Over 75% of Peru's coffee is grown on expansive high plateaus at elevations between 1,000 - 1,800 meters above sea level.
Particularly noteworthy is the Peaberry (or Culi) coffee, which has a single, more concentrated bean. This results in a higher caffeine content and a more intense flavor profile compared to regular coffee beans of the same variety.
